JONAH & ACCIDENTAL PROFFIT
Kyle Knapp
"Omaha is the closest
thing to home I've ever had on this planet," says Kyle Knapp, who grew up
in a variety of small towns around the Midwest and northeast. Kyle looks at life as a
sojourn rather than a destination, of which his songs and stories are a
patchwork illustration.
Whether softly finger-picking or strumming feverishly,
Kyle combines his skill as a singer-songwriter with his passion as a
storyteller to engage his listeners in a journey to the soul.
The first time I heard
Kyle he was performing with “Sweet Discernment”, a black gospel quintet. We later
became good friends and even collaborated at each others gigs. Kyle is well
known for numerous spontaneous collaborations with other singer-songwriters as well,
so don't be surprised if he shows up to back up musicians at one of your
favorite venues.
Over the years Kyle has also
worked with a variety of folk, rock, and gospel artists, including “Chadron” (a
70's-style rock band), British alt/punk rockers “Kidz X”, Christian rock band
“Godspeed," and lately has been seen performing with music duo, "37 Years." Known both locally and regionally, Kyle performs at coffeehouses,
churches, and other acoustic venues.
Most of Kyle’s original
music is inspired by real-life experiences and deals candidly and personally
with such subjects as family, relationships, faith, and awareness of social
concerns such as homelessness and poverty.
I think you'll find his performances moving, heartfelt and
thought-provoking.

37 Years
Omaha music veterans Tyler & Sandy Smith have reunited after 37 years, (hence the name) combining folk, pop, roots country, and gospel influences to create a fresh mix of new and old original tunes. Their new full-length CD "Do You Remember Me?" was released February 1st 2010.
37 Years has some history, if not together, certainly on the long road home. After 37 years on separate paths they are once again together telling their story while providing an interesting blend of sound.
The music of 37 Years is reminiscent of the Haight- Ashbury days of Bob Dylan and Arlo Guthrie. Tyler's story-telling lyrics skillfully implants emotional images in the listener's mind, while his talent on guitar is worthy of comparison to Doc Watson or Chet Atkins. Sandy's keyboard talent and rich harmonies complete this extraordinary musical duo.
This album is an eclectic collection of original ballads, which spell out their message of hope and encouragement. This debut compilation is born of their personal experiences and impressions.
Get their album, better yet; book them to play and hear their whole story.
Do You Remember Me? Was produced by Sod House Records and was recorded at Dry Creek Studio in Omaha, Ne.
